Releases October 26th.
Hey guys it’s that time let’s talk about RDR2.
Have you ever wanted to be in a Clint Eastwood movie? Hell, even a John Wayne movie? Have you thought about going back in that time, just to experience what the western culture was like. I have! To me it would be a dream come true. If I did I would probably die from a gun shot wound or something stupid, like a cold, or maybe an infection from a cut I got cleaning a deer.
The truth is though the wild west was just that. Death was knocking at your door a lot more than it is now. The medicine wasn’t available to treat that cold, or infection. You died.. Oh but they had elixirs haha! Drink this bottle of arsenic and mercury it’ll fix you right up..
The movies aren’t very accurate at all when it comes to a lot of things. The thought of being in a shootout, against some outlaws sounds cool though. I think Red Dead Redemption 2 will give us that movie style vibe and boy am I ready for that. Time for a deep dive into what we know so far!
You play as Arthur Morgan 12 years before the first Red Dead Redemption.
The end of the wild west era has begun as law-men hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed.
After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steel and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.
The amount of game mechanics the trailer shows us is very exciting. Right off the bat clothing customization is the first thing I noticed! It looks like we are able to change individual clothing like pant, shirt, hat, jacket / overcoat, maybe boots? This is big news for us customize freaks. Guns seem to be customizable as well, possibly different attachments, upgrades, and skins. The saddle on your horse is upgradable also, probably through skill upgrades on the character.
Also with this big open world, we will see tons of side quests and activities to do. The amount of content will probably be as girthy as The Witcher 3. From taming horses, and selling animal pelts, to robbing banks with the gang, and having epic shoot outs in the street. Not much has been talked about when it comes to the multiplayer aspects of the game though. We literally have little information on how it will be integrated. I hope that we will see a drop in, drop out online co-op style, and the traditional 30 player open world servers. Maybe player hosted at some point?
The only thing I can say is I can’t wait. Thanks!
